Description
The Old Post Office is a 15th-century house in Goodnestone, originally timber-framed with exposed close studding and plaster infill, and covered by a thatched roof. It has two storeys and an end jetty projecting towards the road. The roof is hipped with a central stack cluster. The front features three wooden casements on each floor, and a boarded door is positioned centrally to the left. An outshot in painted brick extends to the rear. The house was at one time the rectory and may have been the building given for the use of the vicar by Gabriel Richards in 1671, although this might relate to the late 17th-century parsonage.
