Description
Nos. 29 to 41, Upper Strand Street, are a group of mid-19th century terraced houses constructed of painted brick and topped with tiled roofs. The houses feature sash windows with a pattern of four panes per window. A variety of doors are present. A gas lamp, dating to the mid-19th century, remains in use, attached to the corner of No. 41 and set on a bracket. The lamp is a square plan lantern, wider at the top than the bottom, with a sloping roof terminating in a bell-shaped vent and a scrolled cap and finial. The lantern is supported by four curved ogee braces.
