Description

This is a row of ten two-storey terrace houses, numbers 20 to 30, on the west side of Millwall Place. They were built in the mid-19th century. The houses are constructed of brown brick with tiled roofs. They feature box sash windows throughout, each with a flat, rubbed brick arch above. The doorways at numbers 20, 22, 24, and 30 have four-panel doors, with the lower panels being bead-flush and the upper two panels having a bolection moulding. Numbers 26 and 28 have more modern doors. A gas lantern, originally attached to number 20 and converted to electricity, is present. It is mounted on a modern wall bracket and features a lamp above four curved ogee braces. The lantern is square, wider at the top than the bottom, and has anthemion foliage at each corner of the sloping roof. It terminates in a bell-shaped vent with a scalloped cap and finial. Numbers 10 to 32 (even) are considered to form a group.
