Description

Carpenter's Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century, which was re-clad in the 18th century. It is constructed of timber framing and brick, with a plain tiled roof. The house has two floors, set on a plinth, with a plat band. It has a hipped roof with gablets and stacks positioned centrally to the left and at the rear. There are three wooden casement windows on each floor, and a boarded door in the centre, which is set within a kneelered gabled porch and features a semi-circular fanlight. A catslide outshot extends to the rear. The interior retains the full timber frame, featuring stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, chamfered mantel beams over inglenooks, and tie beams of large scantling.
