Description
Ivy Cottage is an early 19th-century building located on Common Lane in Crabble. It is two storeys high and constructed of red brick, featuring some grey headers. The roof has been re-covered with red putty to imitate pantiles. The front facade includes two sashes with intact glazing bars, set within moulded wooden architraves. There is a sun fire plaque, a restored weatherhood, and a six-panelled moulded door, with the top two panels cut away and glazed. The rear elevation, which forms No 66 River Street, is also early 19th century, built of flint with red brick quoins and a tiled roof. It has two sashes with glazing bars intact and a cambered casement on the ground floor.
