Description
Nos 37 and 39 High Street are two large houses from the early 19th century, originally designed as a pair. They stand three storeys tall, each featuring three windows. The houses are constructed of yellow brick with a stuccoed base and red brick relieving arches. There is a painted wooden stringcourse above the ground and first floors, and the buildings have a brick parapet and a slated roof. The glazing bars are intact in No 37. The doorways are adorned with split pilasters, projecting cornices, rectangular fanlights, and doors with two vertical panels. Additionally, No 37 has an extra section to the north, which is two storeys high with two windows, containing another doorway with a rectangular fanlight and a six-panel door. Nos 37 to 51 (odd) form a group.
