Description

Origin and Berberry Cottage, located at 14 and 16 High Street in Greenhithe, are a pair of late 18th century houses dated 1768 on a rainwater head. They are two storeys high and constructed from stock brick, topped with a tiled roof featuring one dormer on each side. The houses are separated by pilasters. Each house has one sash window with intact glazing bars. The doorways are simple round-headed doorcases, although the fanlight above the door of No 14 is blocked. No 16 retains its six flush panelled door and features some 18th century panelling inside. There is a mid-19th century extension at the rear of No 16, which includes a three-light bay window on the first floor. Footscrapers are present at the entrance.
