Description
Nos 17, 19, and 21 High Street in Greenhithe date from 1819. No 19 was originally a congregational church and is now a paint brush factory. It is a two-storey building faced with flint and features red brick dressings. The gable end has a brick modillion cornice and a circular blank window opening. On the first floor, there are two pointed arched windows. The ground floor includes a slated pentice porch with a central pointed window and two pointed-headed doorcases, along with a plinth. Inside, there is a gallery supported by cast iron columns, a ceiling with two domes, and two round-headed blank arches on each side wall. The adjoining cottages, Nos 17 and 21, are also two storeys high, constructed from squared knapped flints with rough flint dressings. They have gables and pilasters that extend the full height of the buildings. Each cottage features one sash window with pointed arched windows and ogee-arched doorcases.
