Description

This is a mid-18th century brick-built house, originally comprising numbers 1 to 5 on Oxford Street. A later extension, dated to the mid-19th century, was built across numbers 1 and 3. The original facade had windows on the first floor, though some were removed when the extension was built; two first-floor windows remain in number 5, retaining their original glazing bars. The house is two stories high and features old clay tiles and a heavy cornice supported on decorative console brackets. The later extension is constructed of yellow brick and includes a two-bay window on the first floor, topped with a flat roof. Modern shop fronts are now in place.
