Description
The Court House is a mid 15th century Wealden timber-framed house that has been significantly restored. It stands two storeys high with an attic and features a rendered front and a tiled roof, which includes two hipped dormers and two groups of hexagonal brick chimneys. The central part of the front is recessed, showcasing overhanging eaves that are supported by brackets. There is a small modern oriel window on the first floor, flanked by lights, above a large 12-light window with wooden mullions and transoms.
On the left side, there is a four-light window with an ornate lead rainwater head situated above an 8-light window, also with wooden mullions and transoms. The right side features one two-light window and one four-light window above the doorway, along with an 8-light window with mullions and transoms. The doorway is made of wood and has a four-centred arch, adorned with carved spandrels and a decorative cartouche above it. Inside, the house has a king post roof, but the panelling and other fittings have been sourced from different locations.
