Description

Oswalds is an 18th-century building located on the west side of The Street in Bishopsbourne. It is two storeys high, with a roughcast exterior over a stuccoed base, a parapet, and a hipped Welsh slate roof. The building features one dormer on the southeast side and five hung sash windows with glazing bars. There is a porch supported by Doric columns and topped with a pediment, leading to a door with six panels, four of which are glazed. The northeast front has two windows and a curved bow on both storeys. Notably, the author Joseph Conrad lived here for several years until his death in 1924.
