Description

Duckpits Farmhouse is a building that dates back to the 17th century or earlier. The north end features a timber-framed structure with one storey and attics. The timber framing and painted brick infilling are visible on the east wall, while the rest of the building has been refronted with painted brick. It has a hipped tiled roof with two gabled dormers and a 17th-century brick chimneystack, along with a brick stringcourse. There are two casement windows and a simple doorcase. Inside, there is an inglenook fireplace. To the south, the farmhouse is connected to a former oasthouse by a 19th-century wing that is mainly weatherboarded and has two storeys. This wing features a tiled roof with a hoist, 19th-century casements, and one cylindrical brick oast.
