Description
Nos 56 and 57 Castle Street are an early 18th-century building of two storeys, constructed in painted brick. The roof is a mansard style, covered in old tiles and featuring three dormers. Number 56 retains its original sash windows with intact glazing bars, while Number 57 has a restored 19th-century shopfront. Number 56 has a simple six-panelled door within a 19th-century wooden surround. The buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 49 to 67 on the same side of the street.
