Description
This is a manor house, now divided into two separate residences, dating to the 17th century with 19th-century additions. The construction is timber-framed, with parts of the first floor exposed and filled with plaster, while other areas are on brick underbuilding and clad in painted brick. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The building is two storeys high with a basement, and features a plinth and a plat band on the right side. It has four large, unevenly projecting, bargeboarded gables, the two central ones being lower and jettied, with carved bressumers. There are end stacks on the left, a single stack in the centre-right, and three large, moulded chimneys over the end-right gable. The window arrangement is irregular, with 3 glazing bar sash windows and one tripartite sash window on the first floor, and two segmental bays and one tripartite sash window on the ground floor; two wooden casements are present on the right side of the basement. A 20th-century 16-panelled door is located on the right, leading to a semi-circular arched porch with a drip mould and rail head ornament, supported by brackets and a flat roof. The right side of the front elevation has brick nogging to the ground floor, while the first floor is jettied with exposed small framing. Brick extensions to the rear incorporate ovens and projecting stacks.
