Description

The Church of St Peter and St Paul is a Grade I listed cruciform building located in Charing Market Place. It dates back to the 13th century, with 15th-century windows, and features a south chapel known as the Wickens chapel, a south parvise porch, and a west tower. After a fire in 1590, the roof of the nave was rebuilt in 1592, followed by the chancel roof in 1620. The churchyard includes notable 18th-century headstones adorned with sunray cherub, urn, and skull motifs.
