Description

Elizabethan Court, originally known as The Old Swan Hotel, dates to the 17th century. It is a two-story building with an attic in the north gable, constructed of red brick with grey brick headers on a cemented base. The roof is tiled, featuring gables at each end. A brick pattern simulating a machicolation overhangs the ground floor. Four casement windows are situated above the ground floor, with brick dripstones over the end first-floor windows. Three small, modern bay windows are present on the ground floor. A doorcase, accessed by a flight of eight steps with an iron handrail, features fluted pilasters, a projecting cornice, a semi-circular fanlight, and a six-panelled door. An iron bracket, once supporting an inn sign, projects from the front, along with a wooden post likely used for another sign at the south corner. The interior includes chamfered beams.
