Description
The stock yard and sheds, located about 75 metres west of Court Lodge Farmhouse, date from the early 19th century. They are constructed from ragstone with brick dressings and feature a plain tiled roof. The stock sheds form a long single-storey building that is hipped and steps down towards the north end. They sit on a plinth and have a series of boarded doors and shuttered window openings on the outer (western) wall, with open arcading facing the stock yard to the east. The yard is enclosed by ragstone walls, approximately 5 feet high, which ramp down to a gate. The ragstone is hammer dressed and squared, and much of it may be reused medieval material from the nearby Archiepiscopal hunting lodge. This structure is included for its group value.
