Description
Court Lodge is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with later cladding from the 18th and 19th centuries, and alterations made in the late 20th century. The building is timber framed and covered with painted brick, featuring tile hanging on the first floor and a plain tiled roof. It has a hall house plan but now has a lobby entry.
The house is two storeys high with a garret and has buttressing on the left side. The roof is hipped with gablets, and there are stacks positioned to the centre left and the end right. On the first floor, there is a half-glazed glazing bar sash window to the left, a margin light casement, and three late 20th-century wooden casements to the right. The ground floor features a tripartite glazing bar sash window to the left, two wooden casements, and a French window to the centre right. A 20th-century plank and stud door is located in the centre left, set within a gabled porch.
The left return of the building includes a plinth and plat band, along with a hipped dormer. At the rear, there is a catslide outshot. The property is situated on a manorial site next to the church, which is surrounded by a complete moat.
