Description

The White Horse is a public house located in Bilsington, dating from the late 18th century and mid 19th century. It features a painted brick exterior and a plain tiled roof, comprising three parallel ranges. To the right, there are two two-storey hipped ranges with central and left stacks, with the right-hand block slightly recessed. Each range has tripartite glazing bar sash windows on both floors, with the right-hand windows being smaller and having segmental heads. A half-glazed door is situated in a plain doorway to the centre right. The mid-19th century range to the left is also slightly recessed, presenting a two-storey gabled roadside elevation with one blank window space and one sash window on each floor. The left return has two semi-dormers and two sash windows. An iron sign bracket is located at the end left, along with a flag pole with an iron bracket at the centre left. The rear elevation also features tripartite glazing bar sashes. The interior bar has been altered.
