Description

These are a pair of red brick houses built between 1845 and 1850, adjoining numbers 1 to 5 and forming part of the larger building at Barrowhill Place, although they are of lower elevation and simpler design. The houses are three storeys high, with a single sash window on each floor. They feature simple doorcases topped with rectangular fanlights. Census records from 1851 indicate that a significant number of the occupants were employed by the railway company. Numbers 1 to 8 Barrowhill Place are considered a group.
