Description

This is a 17th-century cottage pair, later altered in the 20th century. It has a timber frame construction, with a red brick plinth and a plain tile roof. The cottage is two storeys and an attic high, built on a plinth, with the first floor projecting. A hip roof projects to the right, and a smaller hip and hipped dormer breaks the roofline to the left. A central rear stack provides additional chimney provision. The façade is three bays wide, featuring irregular 20th-century wood mullioned casement windows. A four-light segmental oriel window, supported on brackets, sits in the right-hand bay, and below it is a brick mullioned segmental bay window that breaks the line of the overhanging first floor. Central entrances are provided by 20th-century porches.
