Description

A group of eleven houses, numbered 1 to 11, Clifton Terrace, built in the early 19th century. The houses are three storeys high with an attic, and have a basement level. The ground floor and basement are faced with rusticated stucco, while the upper part of the houses are built of yellow brick. Stucco Doric pilasters are a prominent feature to the end houses and the central group, and there is a wide flat eaves cornice. The roofs are slate. Each house has two windows, and a plain arched doorway. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The doors are four-panel doors with fanlights above. A decorative band runs along the second floor level. All ground-floor windows have good cast-iron balcony rails, and the detailing is carried around the curve of the southern end house.
