Description
Wickham House is a mid-18th century house located on Wickham High Street. It features brick walls made of blue headers with red flush quoins and rubbed flat arches, along with a stepped plinth. The roof is concealed by a parapet with stone coping. The main front elevation, facing northwest, has three storeys and a basement with four windows. There is a projecting wing on the north side, added in the early 19th century, which has two storeys and a basement with one window. The windows are sashes set in reveals. The entrance, located at the second bay, has a wood doorcase in the Adam Doric style, complete with an open pediment, smooth half-columns, an arched opening with a radiating fanlight, and a six-panelled door. This entrance is accessed by a flight of five stone steps, which are marked by wrought iron rails. The basement opening has been filled in, and there is an entrance gateway at the north end.
