Description
4 Castle Hill is a building from the mid-18th century that stands three storeys tall. It is constructed of red brick, featuring bands and a rusticated stucco ground floor. The building has a brick and stucco cornice supported by pairs of corbels, and a brick parapet. The main front has five sash windows with glazing bars, and there are two set backs at the south end, each containing one window. A notable feature is the well-crafted panelled door located in the first set back at the south end, which is adorned with a fluted frieze and an open pedimented hood supported by carved brackets. The reveals of the door opening are also panelled. At the north end, there is a rusticated arched passage that serves as a footway to the West Gate. The roof is not visible.
