Description
The White House is a small house that dates from the 16th century and early 19th century, with an extension added in 1970. It features a timber frame encased in brick, which has been colourwashed, and is topped with a slate roof. The building has a large three-bay and smoke bay timber frame that has been made into two storeys, with wings added to the rear at each end.
The front of the house includes a 20th-century rectangular hip-roofed bay to the left of the original door position. To the left, there is a 20th-century door set in a window opening with a cambered head, and to the right, there are two altered 19th-century sash windows, also with cambered heads. Above these, there are four two-light casements. The roof is half hipped, featuring a large stack on the ridge to the left of centre and another stack behind the ridge at the right end.
