Late C17 (1687), attributed to Sir Christopher Wren, but not likely. Red brick and stone dressings. One lofty storey. Centre breaks forward under pediment. Modillion eaves cornice, hipped tiled roof. Six round-headed windows, and central door with bowed pediment. Figure in enriched niche over door, a statue of the founder by C G Cibber 1692. Very fine garlands over the windows. The interior contains a fine plaster ceiling panelling, chandelier of 1729 and two Flemish tapestries.
