Description
St Mary's College Chapel is a Grade I listed building dating from the late 14th century. It features six bays and a wooden lierne vault. The chapel includes a Crimean War Memorial designed by Butterfield in 1858 and woodwork by W.D. Caröe completed between 1913 and 1921. Inside, there are various notable fittings. The south side houses Thurbem's Chantry Chapel, originally built in 1485 but rebuilt by Butterfield between 1862 and 1865. The listed buildings on College Street are recognized as a group.
