Description

The buildings at 58 to 63 Canon Street form a group of historic properties. Number 63 dates to the 17th century, with a three-storey brick upper portion and a single-storey ground floor featuring an old planked door and two windows. Numbers 61 and 62 are also 17th century, with brick walls and old tile roofs. These buildings have seven windows on the first floor and four windows and two doors on the ground floor, each with simple 18th-century doorcases. The original mullioned window frames have been altered and now mostly contain tripartite casement windows. The remaining houses in the group are two storeys high, constructed of red brick with good quality 18th-century tile roofs, and have two, three, or four windows each. The listed buildings extend from number 46 to 64 and are considered to be a group due to their collective heritage value.
