Description

St Mary's College, known as New Hall, was built in 1833 and is located on the south side of College Street. The building was designed by Peter Shepherd between 1958 and 1960 and features blue brick and stone construction. It is listed primarily for its exceptional woodwork from 1680 to 1683, which was removed from the Chapel by Butterfield, possibly crafted by Pierce. Notable interior elements include a screen reredos with Ionic columns and panelling. The listed buildings on College Street are recognized as a group for their collective historical significance.
