Description
Row Ash House is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with rear extensions added in 1826. The front walls are made of blue header brickwork, featuring flush red quoins and rubbed flat arches, along with brick dentil eaves. The other walls are constructed in Flemish Garden Wall bond with blue headers and cambered openings. The main part of the house has a tile roof, while the rear has a lower-pitched slate roof that ends in coupled hips. The near-symmetrical south front has two storeys and an attic, with three windows that have sashes in exposed frames. The doorcase features a dentilled Order with an open pediment, panelled pilasters, an arched opening with panelled reveals, a Gothic fanlight, and a six-panelled door (two of which are glazed) above stone steps. The rear wings have upper sashes and lower casements, including one splayed bay on the east wall and plain doorways. The original staircase remains intact.
