Description

This is a late 18th-century building on Cherville Street, originally comprising numbers 63 to 67. The building fronts onto both Cherville Street (the west front, encompassing numbers 63 and 65) and a side street (the north front, encompassing numbers 65 and 67). The roof is mainly old tile, with a dentil eaves cornice and the exterior is painted brick.

The west front has three windows above ground floor level. Number 63 has two modern light casements. Number 65 has a four-pane sash window with an architrave frame. The ground floor at either end has similar four-pane sash windows flanking a central common doorway, recessed beneath a segmental arch. There are two doorways within this arch, with doors set within architrave frames. The door to number 63 has six flush panels, the top two of which have been cut away and glazed. The door to number 65 has its upper four panels glazed. A stuccoed plinth runs along the base of the building.

The north side of number 65 has a brick band above the ground floor windows. On the first floor, a four-pane sash window with architrave frame is positioned at the western end, with a similar segmental-headed window below it. To the east, there is a three-pane sash window on the first floor, also with an architrave frame, and a sash window below it with no glazing bars. Number 67, adjoining number 65 to the east, has two 22-light casement windows on the first floor, with a two-light casement window below, set within a segmental arch. A wooden boarded door, with a glazed upper portion and side lights, is positioned within a segmental arch. A wooden porch with a gable roof covers the door. A one-storey lean-to extension is situated at the north-east end, containing a small window and a wooden boarded door with a thin, flat hood supported by shaped brackets.

Numbers 55 to 67 form a group.
