Description
This is an early 19th-century building on the High Street in Andover, situated at the corner of Newbury Street. It is a three-storey corner block with a regular facade of 2 windows, 2 windows, and 1 window, incorporating a rounded and recessed corner. The building has a slate roof and a stucco cornice below a blocking course. The walls are of yellow brick in Flemish bond, with stone flat arches, first and second-floor bands, and rustication to most of the ground floor, set upon a plinth. The windows are sash windows set in reveals. Original shop windows are located on either side of the corner, which features a doorway with rusticated pilasters. The south side has an arched doorway with a decorative fanlight. A modern shopfront has been inserted into the eastern side, facing Newbury Street.
