Description
Upper Charlton House is a 18th-century building located on Charlton Street in Andover. It features a symmetrical front (west) with two storeys and three windows. The roof is tiled, with a catslide at the rear, a hipped-roofed central projection, and two hipped dormers. A massive tapered stack is present at the north gable. The front is finished in stucco and includes a first-floor band. The windows are sash style with three lights, except for the one above the central door. The doorway is adorned with a moulded canopy supported by carved brackets, an architrave, and a six-panelled door with two glazed panels at the top. The side elevations are constructed of red brick in English bond, with some exposed timber framing visible on the rear outshot. There is flanking brick walling that defines the forecourt.
