Description

Shipyard House is an early 19th-century building located on Bath Road. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof, which is half hipped at the rear. The house has two storeys and is designed with two windows that contain sashes with glazing bars and jalousies. Access to the house is through an archway on the south side. Inside, there is a contemporary style panelled door with a moulded architrave and fanlight, which has been added in a newly built porch. At the rear, there is a long 1½ storey wing that extends down to the river, topped with a red brick tiled roof. Shipyard House and the opposite Nelson Cottage form a group with the listed buildings on Nelson Place.
