Description
Bridge House, built in the mid-18th century, is a three-storey brick house with a slate roof, featuring a front in header bond. The building has five bays across and three bays deep, with low wings at the rear. The main entrance, located at the center, is accessed by two steps and consists of a six-panel door with a radiating fanlight decorated with wreathed details, set within an arched panelled reveal. The doorcase is adorned with engaged Doric columns, a broken triglyph entablature, and an open pediment.
In front of the house, there are 18th-century railings with column standards topped by urn finials, which curve out from the corners of the building to frame the entrance, linked by a central lamp over-throw. To either side of the door, there are two sashes without glazing bars. The first floor features a raised band and twelve-pane sashes, while the second floor has a raised band and wider six-pane sashes. All windows are topped with rendered arches. The building has dentil eaves and overhanging eaves on the hipped roofs, with end stacks on the front bays. Some interior features from the 18th and 19th centuries are still present.
