Description

The Old Rectory is a late 18th-century house located on Bidbury Lane, Havant. It is a red brick building, constructed in a Flemish bond pattern with blue headers, and has a tile roof. The symmetrical north front features two storeys and an attic, with three windows. The facade includes a stone coping to the parapet and a brick dentil band. Sashes are set within exposed frames, and a first-floor band runs along the elevation. A large stucco porch with a blocking course and cornice features recessed arches on either side, containing arched windows with sashes. The recessed arch of the porch has a radiating fluted plaster panel within, an arched opening above a bow-shaped cornice, supported on Adam-style ¼-Corinthian columns, and a fanlight above a six-panelled door. The west elevation has a two-storey, half-octagonal bay, while the south side has a two-storey, three-window extension, all in a similar style. The east elevation also has three windows.
