Description
No. 102 High Street is a building dating from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries. It features an old structure with a timber frame exposed on the west end, and the ground floor is completely open on columns for the shop. The building has two storeys and an attic, with three windows. It has a red tile roof, a flat-roofed single dormer, and a moulded eaves cornice with scored triglyphs in the frieze, supported at intervals by four moulded and curved brackets. The walls are rendered with a plinth. On the first floor, there are two sash windows in exposed frames, and on the east side, there is a Victorian gabled projecting bay with coupled sashes and narrow side sashes. The ground floor includes a blank recess on the west side and an early 19th-century shopfront, which features a rectangular three-light bay, double glazed doors, and a modern fascia attached to the canopy.
