Description

The forecourt wall to the almshouses is a mid-19th century structure. It is a low wall made of red brick, topped with stone capping. The wall features a central pedestrian opening that is flanked by brick piers. The lower part of each pier has brickwork, and the stone capping extends as a band above this, followed by another brick band. The top of the wall is made of stonework and has a pyramid cap, which is widened below by sloping offsets. The front face of the wall includes a recessed roundel with four cusps, and the outer corner below the roundel is chamfered. The rails and gate are missing.
