Description

Pilcot Mill is an 18th-century rectangular building of two storeys with an attic floor. The main walls are constructed of red brick in a Monk bond pattern, incorporating some blue headers. The north face and the upper portion of the south face feature exposed timber framing, with the upper part of the east wall and the north gable boarded. The roof is covered with red tiles, partially hipped. The openings are small and have casement frames. A two-storey timber frame encloses a sack door above the access door. A mill wheel is present. The brick walls are arranged to create sluices and define the boundary of the mill dam near the mill itself. A brick walling arrangement creates sluices and defines the boundary to the mill dam near the mill. The mill’s last use was in 1928.
