Description

Glaston Hill House is an early 18th-century building that was enlarged around 1900. It has two storeys and features a symmetrical main front with five windows, which was extended at the west end by a similar wing containing three additional windows. The house has a gabled red tile roof and lower wings at the rear. The brick facade includes a parapet with a tile coping and a moulded brick cornice. The blue header bond is complemented by flush red dressings, which include jambs and rubbed flat arches, with the soffit carved on the ground floor. Below the ground floor cills, there is mixed bonding. The first-floor band is made of moulded brickwork that rises in the centre where a window has replaced a former doorway. The west end mirrors this pattern in red brickwork and features a plain arched doorway at its east end. The side elevations are less regular and are constructed in red brickwork using English bond. The windows are sash style in exposed frames. To the east of the front, there is a high brick wall with piers at each end, which also forms a gateway in the middle.
