Description

This is a group of three cottages, Wall Cottage (number 1), Well Cottage (number 2), and Lea Cottage (number 3), forming Chilloway Terrace, dating to the 18th and 19th centuries. The terrace has undergone numerous alterations over time. It has a red tile roof with gables at each end. The south-facing ground-floor walls are of flint, with brick quoins, and have largely been replaced with brickwork in a distinctive Flemish bond pattern. A projecting brick band runs centrally across the first floor, above which the wall is set back slightly; a brick dentil moulding runs along the top of the wall below the eaves. The window openings are cambered, with some now filled in. The windows are casements. There are three gabled semi-dormer windows in the centre of the roof. The front doors are plain.
