Description
Hare's Farmhouse is a late 17th century or early 18th century building located in Hartley Wintney on Hares Lane. It has two storeys and an attic, with a basement at the rear, and features a symmetrical facade with five windows, including three dormers. The roof is covered in red tiles, with end gables and hipped dormers, and has a modillion cornice. The walls are made of red brick in Flemish bond, with headers at the gable ends, a first-floor band, rubber flat arches, and a plinth. The windows are mullion and transom casements. The doorcase is adorned with a fully moulded canopy supported by curved brackets, featuring a panelled soffit and panels above the door, which has a glazed head and is a three-panelled door set above three stone steps. The rear elevation has three gables that are tile-hung to the first floor level, with the lower wall rendered. The rear also has casements arranged in a regular but not symmetrical pattern of three windows, along with a plain central door. There are small modern additions at each end of the building.
