Description
The Forge is an 18th-century small two-storey house with a single-storey northern extension on the west side. The south-facing facade is nearly symmetrical, featuring a central Venetian window on the first floor, with a window on each side of the entrance on the ground floor. The building has a hipped red tile roof and is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches, a first-floor band, and a plinth. A large tapered stack is attached at the rear. The Venetian window is topped with a pediment and has a moulded cornice that extends to the eaves level above the side lights. The ground-floor windows are sash windows in exposed frames, while the other windows are small two-light casements. At the rear, there is a landing window with five square-headed lights and an arched centre light. The entrance features a plain door with a small canopy supported by brackets.
