Description
The barn at Causeway Farm, located to the southwest of the farmhouse, dates from the 16th century to the 17th century. It is an early structure consisting of three bays, featuring a central entrance that projects to the north, with an additional bay added on each side at a later date. The barn has an old aisle on the northwest side and later aisles on the south side. It is constructed with a timber frame resting on a low brick wall, showcasing a Queen Post truss, arch braces to the tie-beams, purlins, and upper walls in the older section. The walls include red brick infill within the exposed frame, weatherboarding on the gables and entrance, and brick walling on the south aisles. The roof is covered with red tiles, has a half-hipped design, and extends to low eaves at the aisles.
