Description
The Old Rectory Undercroft is an 18th-century building with a medieval basement. It has two storeys and a basement, constructed partly of random rubble with brick dressings and partly of brick. The building features brick offsets, dentil eaves, and a hipped roof covered with old tiles. The west front has a four-bay arrangement, with the first-floor windows on the south side blocked. There is a six-panelled door located in the second bay from the south, which is deeply recessed and topped with an arched radiating fan light. This door is framed by a doorcase with reeded pilasters and a moulded cap at the level of the door head, adorned with reeded circles and cross reeding, and supporting a flat moulded cornice hood that is broken forward over the pilaster. The south front displays random rubble with red brick dressings and consists of five bays.
