Description

This is an early 19th-century building comprising numbers 72 to 74 on High Street in Fareham. The building is constructed of red brick with stucco bands above the slightly segmental window arches. It has a brick modillion eaves cornice and a coped parapet, topped with a slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic containing three dormers, and features six sash windows with glazing bars. Number 72 includes a 19th-century bay window with unbarred sashes on the first floor, and a carriageway arch. Numbers 73 and 74 have doorways with pilasters, projecting cornices, and low, rectangular fanlights. The building forms part of a group of listed buildings on High Street and Union Street, along with the street lamps, numbers 1 and 2, the Parish Church of St Peter and St Paul on Church Place, the Red Lion Hotel, and number 10 East Street.
