Description
The Gun House, including the stables adjoining to the south, dates from the late 17th century and early 19th century. It is a two-storey building with two windows and a projecting two-storey porch. The roof is covered in red tiles and features end gables as well as a gable on the porch. The building has "Tudor" chimney stacks and is constructed of painted brickwork, which includes a projecting first-floor band that supports 'Coade' style heads at regular intervals, along with a plinth. The first floor has casement windows, while the ground floor features sash windows with shutters. The porch has a round arched entrance with a square recess, showcasing a Coade keystone and impost bands. Inside the porch is a panelled entrance door with an architrave. At the rear, the eaves are low, and there is also a small stable block with a slate roof.
