Description
Butler's Farmhouse is a building that dates from the 16th century, 18th century, and early 19th century. It features a three-bay timber frame with a half-bay between the first and second bays, which contains a large chimney with an entrance on one side and a modified staircase on the other. The farmhouse has one storey and an attic, with three windows. The roof is half-hipped thatch, with a catslide at part of the rear and eyebrow dormers. The walls display exposed bricknogged framing, with some flint and brick walling at the rear. The windows are casements.
There is a gabled brick porch that features a rubbed round arch, a small carved keystone, moulded imposts, a plinth, a small circular recess within the gable, and small circular openings on each side that have moulded edges and four small keys. The porch also has an old panelled door. Inside, the farmhouse retains several historical features, including boarded doors, beams, and a large fireplace.
