C18, early C19. Possibly designed by John Pitt (Calvin p 639). A symmetrical front (north-east) of 2 storeys, 1.1.1 windows, with a taller wing brought forward on the north-west side, of 2 storeys, 2 windows. Hipped slate roofing, with a fully-moulded cornice, formed into a pediment above the slightly-projected centrepiece. Brick walling (colour-washed) in Flemish bond, rubbed flat arches. The centrepiece has a lunette on the first-floor with blank side panels; below this a full-width Tuscan Order of 4 attached ½-columns, enclosing narrow side windows below projecting panels, and a central arched doorway with a keystone and moulded imposts. The upper windows of the old part are casements, with early sashes below; the wing has sashes in reveals with low cills to the ground-floor. Six-panelled door beneath radiating fanlight. The symmetrical south-east elevation has 3 windows, with a central angular ground-floor bay of the late C19. Sashes. A feature of this facade is a first-floor wrought-iron balcony across the full width.
