Description
Manor Farmhouse is a building that dates from the 16th and 17th centuries, with later additions. It is a long, two-storey timber-framed house featuring one-storey rear wings at each end, which were added later. The house has an old tiled roof that is hipped at the north-west end and has a catslide over part of the rear. A central stack rises from the roof.
The exposed frame of the house includes arch-bracing and is filled with red brickwork, predominantly arranged in a herringbone pattern on the east side, where there are also signs of old windows that have been filled in. This structure sits on a brick plinth. The west end of the house continues the exposed frame, while the east gable has been clad in brickwork laid in Flemish bond, featuring a first-floor band and indications of altered window openings, with the upper gable being tile-hung.
The windows are casements. There is a gabled porch supported by thin columns, which encloses a six-panelled door framed by an architrave. Additionally, there is another old door on the east face, which is a six-flush panelled door with an architrave, carved brackets, and a thin flat canopy above it.
